Hyper-Shoujo issue #1 is finally done. If you thought I'd never finish it, well, you're not the only one. There's another complete issue, or maybe two, before we learn all of Alice's secrets. Hopefully I'll get it done eventually. In the meantime, I've been thinking about putting issue one up on Keenspace. I'd be interested to see what kind of an audience it can get. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out -- some of the art's not great, but I think the story and the characters came across, especially Aika. Trouble is, I keep thinking Keenspace is going to fold, like so many other free high-bandwidth websites.
I guess I've kind of lost interest in programming for now. Haven't done any C++ since last fall, and I've probably forgotten as much as I'd learned. Been messing around with music again -- check out MIDI jukebox 2.0. Also signed up for a PayPal account; but I'm not sure if it works. During the sign-up process it said Canadians could use a bank account to transfer funds; but in the FAQ's, they say you need to enter a credit card number to verify your account. If you'd like to donate $0.50 or something (ne_muATyahoo.com) so I can see if it works, feel free ;)
BTW, funny story. I've been on the p2p programs for months, trying to find the single "Win Big Lose More" from Pepper Sands. There aren't that many useful filesharing programs left, alas, and I got so desparate I tried Gnutella. Found it there, of course; but, as usual with Gnutella, couldn't get the thing to actually download. However, Shareaza lets you check the id3 tag before you download; and in the comments field of this song was www.mp3.com/peppersands . I thought 'nah, couldn't be..' But it is. They've got a page on mp3.com, with 3 downloadable songs, including the kickin' single. So go download them already.

Added a 4-page update to Hyper-Shoujo. Yeah, it's been a while. Sorry to all the people who had begun to get interested in the story. You know how it is when the Real World reaches out and drags you down into its clammy embrace and won't let go... Well, if you don't, I hope you never find out. Anyway, there's an 'end of part one' coming up soon, so hopefully I'll be able to get there by the end of the summer.
In the meantime, I've been screwing around with some sound software. I've uploaded an mp3 version of the Hyper-Shoujo theme song, if anyone's interested. The midi version sounded terrible on most wavetable soundcards -- the bassline completely dissappeared. It's still not exactly 'Ride of the Valkyries'; but anyway, this is how it's supposed to sound.
Thanks to all the people who took the time to send and email or leave a message in the guest book. Except for that one guy ; P

Still no updates. I really am otherwise occupied. Thought I'd mention, though, I've been getting a lot of viruses in my Lycos webmail; which means, someone's likely using my address to send them to other people. If you get an email with an attachment from waylands_forgeATlycos.com don't open it! It's not from me. In fact, if you want to be meticulous about this sort of thing, add the address to your blocked list right now, just in case.
If you're a real hacker and you know how to track back and find who's abusing my address, let me know.

Just thought I'd let you know, there's a bug in the current version of Oniko. Apparently I compiled the conget.exe binary with an old version of the source; and now I can't find the new version. Haven't got time right now to re-write it, either. The function that doesn't work is the 'download a single file' option. The URL list generator, and the batch downloader, still work. I'll fix it when I get time.
There's a very usable version of lMame up, by the way. Let me know what you think of it.
Haven't updated the Mangas for a while, either. I've been busy. Not party-ing busy: some work, more or less, came up, and I've been hard at it all Christmas. Eventually I'll resume Hyper-Shoujo; I've got a new drawing tutorial to add as well. When I get time...

December 8 -- Well that's freakin' hilarious
Six days -- six days -- after I move my homepage to tripod.ca, they shut down. I had a heck of a time finding a decent free host, too. I can remember when they were competeing to get you to build in their webspace. The Goode Olde Days -- already.
Anyway, the new homepage is here, at least for now: http://members.fortunecity.com/ubernerd. They've got some pretty nasty banner/popup action, but at least they allow FTP access.

Boy, you've got to check out QuakeForge. It's a hardware-accelerated port of Quake, and it looks insanely cool. Better even than the QiP port of GLQuake. Lighting effects, and all new weapons fire -- makes Quake 1 look better than Quake 2. I've been using it to play Tombraider Quake, and it's hellafun.

November 27 -- Online Mangas Updated
Added 5 pages to Hyper-Shoujo. Major update to lMame in a few days, stay tuned.

No news yet. I've moved my homepage here because, as you may know, Geocities no longer allows FTP access to free accounts. Check out the new sections, particularly 'Software'. I'm learning programming, and I've already come up with a couple of useful, if somewhat simple, programs.
